Amitabh Bachchan's legs appear to be removed in the movie due to the use of visual effects to show him handicapped, and also had to wear black socks throughout the shoot to aid in the creation of the effects.

Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra mentioned that the best lines on Wazir were improvised by the actors on set.
