Revealing Mistakes
Towards the end of the movie where Uncle Sam is shot, the gun used on him was a six shooter yet it fired 8 bullets.

Revealing Mistakes
The support wires are visible when sam is blown away. In fact, the wires leave a linear hole as his body leaves a hole in the house.

Factual Mistake
A class is shown in session in July despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of American schools are not in session during July, also the classroom holds a large amount of students for it to be a summer school class.

Continuity
When the dramatic red-lit close-ups of the congressman's hands which are being strapped on to the fireworks tower is shown, it's apparent that the arms are being stretched up and away from the waist, as in a crucifixion. When we see the congressman in full length his arms are tied down at hip level.

Continuity
Uncle Sam's pants go from red and white to black and white just before the final showdown.

Character Error
Barry, who is blind, takes the food given to him by his parents at the Fourth of July rally without any verbal prompt as if he can see it.
Trivia:
A lenticular 3-D poster was produced for Uncle Sam and reportedly only 10 of the 3-D posters were issued which shows four versions of Uncle Sam changing from an old man into a ghoul.

The movie was dedicated to Lucio Fulci, the Italian horror director.

The ending of the movie is in reference to the ending of Lucio Fulci's City of the Living Dead (1980). The end credits confirms this dedication.

Prior to filming the end of the movie where Uncle Sam is shot by a cannon, the filmmakers didn't notify local homeowners of the large explosion that they were going to be setting off at 2:00 AM. When it was set off, many concerned neighbors called local police as the explosion could be heard throughout the city. As a result, the City had decided to reject all future requests for movies to be filmed in La Verne.
