When Bond's latest assignment goes gravely wrong and agents around the world are exposed, MI6 is attacked forcing M to relocate the agency. These events cause her authority and position to be challenged by Gareth Mallory (Ralph Fiennes), the new Chairman of the Intelligence and Security Committee. With MI6 now compromised from both inside and out, M is left with one ally she can trust: Bond. 007 takes to the shadows - aided only by field agent, Eve (Naomie Harris) - following a trail to the mysterious Silva (Javier Bardem), whose lethal and hidden motives have yet to reveal themselves.

Continuity
The time set on the wristwatches of the participants in the Ministerial Hearing are set to a variety of different times, even among participants sitting at the same table.

Continuity
Sévérine's shoes change colours between shots when she and Bond are walking in the island.

Continuity
The positions of the car door and seat belts change from right to left as shots change from when Bond kidnaps M with her in the backseat to the shot of her in the reflection of the rear-view mirror.

Continuity
The button for his floor is already lit before Patrice enters the elevator in Shanghai. However, it is no longer lit after he motions to press the floor button. Later, as the elevator is moving up, the button is lit again.

Crew/Equipment Visible
In one of the initial scenes, after Bond crashes his bike into a bridge wall and lands on top of a moving train, he almost slips off. However, the platform supporting hi,m to climb back onto the roof is visible in the scene where the train moves away from the bridge.

Factual Mistake
Both Bond and Silva slide down the center escalator divider in the chase in the tube station which is not possible as there are protruding metal discs at regular intervals in the London Underground.

Factual Mistake
The car's brake pipe is also disconnected in the intro scene when James Bond's train car is uncoupled. In the movie, the uncoupled cars continue closely following the train which is not possible as train brakes work on positive pressure and if the brake pipe were disconnected, the uncoupled cars would immediately stop within a short distance, and the rest of the train would shortly follow.

Factual Mistake
The tube train is formation of non-operational District Line 1996 stock.

Revealing Mistakes
The shots from behind expose the padding underneath the clothing worn by the riders, especially James bond's during the motorcycle chase.

Revealing Mistakes
The excavator's and its jib's height as initially loaded on the rail car would not have allowed it to pass through the tunnel.

Revealing Mistakes
All the signage and stations suggest it's a District Line Train when James Bond chases Silva on the London Underground train; however this is actually 1996 Jubilee Line stock which is revealed by both the colour scheme and deep level line body type.

Revealing Mistakes
The train plows through columns that support the roof when the train crashes through the roof of the cellar but no windows crack and the paint is hardly scratched.
Trivia:
Judi Dench's portrayal of M is the most common charecter in the series after Bond himself with more screen time in this film alone than Desmond Llewelyn had in his 17 films as Q.

"I've been trying to get out of this from the very moment I got into it but they won't let me go", James Bond actor Daniel Craig told "Rolling Stone" magazine as he wanted "Skyfall" to be his third and final Bond movie. Craig has bagged the next two James Bond films, both Bond 24 (2015) and Bond 25

The stunts of leaping and sliding down the escalator rail was performed by Daniel Craig himself.

Skyfall though being a big budget English Language film, does not feature any American actors or characters.

Kevin Spacey was considered for a role but later turned it down.

Skyfall which runs at 143 minutes is the second longest Bond movie of all time , the longest being Casino Royale (2006) at 144 minutes and the third longest being On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) which runs 142 minutes.
