Factual Mistake
The Orlando Police officers wear dark blue uniforms. Not tan ones like in the do film. The OPD Patches they wore are also incorrect. They use to wear brown uniforms but switched to Blue in the late 80s.

Putting blue paint in to the pool strainer may have allowed blue paint in to the pool, but would not have caused the sprinklers to spray bluish water when they came on late in the movie.
