Selvamani Selvaraj assisted Ang Lee in the Indian schedule of the Oscar-winning film “Life of Pi”. He wrote, directed and produced his first feature ‘Nila’. Nila was listed as Film Bazaar Recommends part of Film Bazaar 2015. Nila screened at Raindance which is one of the top independent film festivals in the world. The film also won the Best First Feature at CINEQUEST Film Festival in California. Nila was the official selection of New York Indian Film Festival and Jaffna International Film Festival.
He identifies himself as a writer and hopes to make films that let him explore human emotions and express them honestly.
