It's September 1941 in the Soviet Union. By a twist of fate, a young couple, cadet-gunner Kostya Gorelov and his girlfriend Nastya Tkachyova, find themselves on board the dilapidated barge 752, the purpose of which is the evacuation of people from sieged Leningrad. At night, when the ship gets into a storm and begins to sink, the first ones on the scene turn out to be the enemy aircraft.
