From a very young age, she became completely immersed in devotion and love for Lord Krishna. Accepting Lord Krishna as her husband and beloved, she set aside social norms and conventions, and began composing devotional hymns and songs in the praise of Lord Krishna. Forced into marriage, she had to overcome immense persecution and went on to gain great repute as a great saint, poet and devotee of Lord Krishna.
