Mohan (Amitabh Bachchan) and Asha (Mala Sinha) are in love with each other, and eventually marry each other in a private temple. Circumstances separate the couple, and Mohan marries Seema (Aruna Irani) and has two children. Mohan is employed with the local municipality.
10 years later, there is a new Collector coming to town, and that person is Asha, who will take over this position, and will be Mohan's boss. After her arrival, rumours start to circulate about Mohan and Asha. Seema, at first disregards these rumours, but then comes across a photograph of Mohan and Asha together exchanging garlands and getting married.
Seema wants a decision and must confront Mohan and Asha to find the truth about their relationship. Can Seema handle the truth?
This is one of Amitabh Bachchan's earliest movies, while Mala Sinha was already an established lead actress.
