This socially relevant family drama revolves around Anand Rao, a hard-working and honest public prosecutor, who develops a great reputation for putting criminals behind bars. Outside of the courtroom, he leads a simple and happy life with his wife Jaya and their five wonderful children.
Then, in a tragic turn of events, Jaya passes away in a road accident. Unable to bear the loss of his beloved wife, Anand Rao breaks down completely and begins seeking oblivion through alcohol intoxication. With no one to care for them, the children suffer a great deal and hence Anand Rao's friend SP Raghava Rao (Murali Mohan) sends his cousin sister Shanthi (Revathy) as governess to take care of children. Shanthi and the children develop a deep bond of love and attachment for each other.
One of the enemies of the law is Tata Rao, a deadly criminal against whom Anand Rao and his team are building a case and wish to capture red-handed. As the case against Tata Rao builds momentum, tension mounts on the home front as well, as talk about Shanthi's marriage comes up. With the children desperately unwilling to part with her, Raghava Rao proposes a marriage between Shanthi and Anand Rao. When Anand Rao rejects this proposal a heartbroken Shanthi runs away from home and it is at this critical juncture that Tata Rao kidnaps the children. Will Anand Rao succeed in rescuing the children from Tata Rao safely? How will Shanthi's future unfold?
