Krishnaiya is an exemplary man. Despite being an orphan, he is exceptionally loving and caring towards children, respectful towards elders and unfailingly generous to those in need. At the same time, he's fearless and fights injustice fiercely.
Lakshmi, the granddaughter of a wealthy landowner returns to her native village after completing her education and is deeply impressed by Krishnaiya's qualities. They fall in love and decide to get married, but Lakshmi's grandfather takes into account social considerations and status, and decides to force Lakshmi into marrying Dharma Raju.
The daring Krishnaiya enters the wedding ceremony and elopes with Lakshmi. They get married at the temple. Lakshmi's grandfather and Dharma Raju bring in the police and try to get him arrested on charges of abduction, but Lakshmi clearly tells the police that she is a major and has the right to choose her own life partner.
Lakshmi's grandfather breaks all ties with her, but just before his death, he repents for his actions. After his death, Dharma Raju begins to show his true colours by taking control over her property. Also, in order to get rid of Krishnaiya, Dharma Raju conspires to create a wrong impression about the relationship between Radha, a dancer and Krishnaiya. He goes to the extent of having Radha murdered for rejecting him and frames Krishnaiya for the crime.
With doctored evidence, Krishnaiya is sentenced to life imprisonment. Krishnaiya escapes prison and exacts revenge upon those responsible for the injustices committed against him. He adopts a girl child, Jyothi and begins caring for her.
Meanwhile, Lakshmi, who has been brainwashed to believe that her husband is a murderer, brings up their son, Raja into a fearless man. Raja and Jyothi fall in love. Raja is a police officer, who is given the task of arresting Krishnaiya. What will the future hold in store for father and son?
