After several years, Anand renews ties with his childhood best friend Madan, who is in love with Latha. Latha and Anand become very good friends, but Latha's parents begin to feel like Anand would make a good husband for her as he is extremely handsome and well to do. This causes Madan to become enraged with jealousy and friction erupts in his friendship with Anand.

Just as the relationship between Madan and Anand is on the verge of falling apart completely, with Madan boiling with jealousy, Anand disappears.
