Trivia:
The film was initially titled Dancing About Architecture, and still contains the line from which this title was taken: "Talking about music is like dancing about architecture."

Sir Sean Connery accepted just sixty thousand dollars as his salary for this movie, as he was keen to play a character his age in a relationship with someone his own age. This was a far cry from the fourteen million dollars he earned on The Rock (1996).

Ryan Phillippe didn't let the the filmmakers know that he was going to dye his hair blue. The first they knew of it, was when he turned up on-set on the day of filming with his hair a different color. Most of the cast and crew were taken aback, but Writer and Director Willard Carroll liked it. Coincidentally, Angelina Jolie dyed her hair on the same day.
