Periya Idathu Mappillai (1997)

Embedded with quirky comedy and soulful romance, this romantic drama follows the fluctuating fortunes in the life of Gopalakrishnan (Jayaram). Hailing from an impoverished family, Gopalakrishnan has many responsibilities and commitments. With a lot of determination and hard work he completes his graduation. Despite having a graduate degree, he finds himself unable to find suitable employment. Therefore, in an attempt to piece the financial burden of his family, he accepts to become the driver for two wealthy brothers, Periya Thambi (Vijayakumar) and Chinna Thambi (Rajan P. Dev) who own a large business. In course of time, complications emerge when Periya Thambi's daughter Lakshmi (Devayani) and Chinna Thambi's daughter Priya (Mantra) fall in love with Gopalakrishnan. How will Gopalakrishnan respond to their advances? What will the fathers' reaction be the their respective daughter's choice of mate? How will this unique love triangle unfold?
