Trivia:
While living with editor Neerja Shah, Amitabh Bachchan would get her and her sisters to role play for his lines. They would all end up giggling away, because acting wasn't the acceptable norm in society at the time.

The film saw Amitabh Bachchan playing his first negative role as a villain. He did not play another until 31 years later in Aankhen (2002).

Actor Shatrughan Sinha made a cameo appearance in the movie as a public prosecutor.

Actor Om Prakash predicted Amitabh Bachchan's rise to fame. On the first day of shooting, after Amitabh's turn to speak, Om forgot his lines. When asked what the matter was, he said: 'Where did this great artist come from?' and the shooting was canceled.
