Shankar becomes a rebellious and resentful atheist after his father, a pious priest is murdered and his family is destroyed, by the evil Tiger. He flees to the city and becomes a bandit, joining hands with Balbir (Pran) and Gauri (Hema Malini) to loot people. In a fortuitous twist, he discovers that his mother and sister, whom he had thought to be dead are alive. But his joy is short-lived as he is given a rude awakening to the fact that his worst enemy, Tiger is also alive and well. Will Shankar go after Tiger once more? Will his thirst for revenge be quenched this time? Can the cynical atheist ever believe in God again?
