Trivia:
Rob Minkoff is a big fan of "Peabody's Improbable History" segment on Rocky and Bullwinkle and had been dreaming to make a feature-film adaptation for years.

The opening of the film is essentially an homage to the very first "Peabody's Improbable History" segment.

This is not only the first film based on The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show since 2000, but the first fully-animated film based on Rocky and Bullwinkle. The first three movies were Boris and Natasha, Dudley Do-Right, and The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle.

A short film starring Rocky and Bullwinkle will be featured along with the film. It is said to be a test for a possible animated feature film starring the two.

Robert Downey Jr. was initially considered for the role of Mr. Peabody.
