Set in 1993 in the wake of the Soviet Union's collapse, the story follows a group of Russian women (dancers and young expats) who travel to Egypt seeking safety, employment, and a fresh start. As they mingle with Egyptian society, they experience cultural clashes, unexpected romance, and deep bonds that make them reluctant to return home.
