Interspersed with humour, this thought-provoking social drama follows the fluctuating fortunes in the life of Yedukondalu, a barber in a small village. He is a widower, who comes from a lower-middle-class family and leads a simple lifestyle.
His sister-in-law looks after him and his kids. Yedukondalu cuts, shaves, and grooms all males in his village, including the local minister. When the minister's political party is in need of someone to stand in the forthcoming election, he unexpectedly recommends Yedukondalu as his choice.
Yedukondalu accepts this challenge, and then begins the race of getting votes. To his surprise, he wins, and goes on to become a Member of the Legislative Assembly. His sister-in-law watches from the sidelines as to how the changes affect this simple-minded and straight-forward barber. What will the future hold in store for Yedukondalu?
