Tom Cruise and team rock.
on

"Mission Impossible-Rogue Nation" is another thrilling action caper that keeps you hooked throughout.Starting up with an awe evoking scene where Tom Cruise(still as charismatic and handsome as earlier and greeted by wolf whistles) enters a plane which has taken off the runway. The action sequences particularly the one in the winding alleys of Morocco are a fabulous visual treat and the other one involving an I.D card swapping underwater in a high protection tower is equally nail biting.Sad that the intermission cuts through the latter sequence numbing down its impact.
The dialogue is kick ass and smart with plenty of sarcasm and wit.The performances are uniformly excellent.Simon Pegg who plays Tom Cruise's trusted friend and assistant on the mission is a riot and so is Jeremy Renner who catches your attention with those small grimaces and sly smiles.Alec Baldwin shines in a tailor made authoritative role. Ving Rhames is spot on in his scenes with Renner while I would reserve my praise for two standout performances in this commercial potboiler.Rebecca Ferguson is all fire and ice as she performs those daredevil stunts and changes colors like a chameleon with resplendent ease.Sean Harris as the Syndicate nemesis may not have the physicality but with his ice cold expressions shines toxic ally enough in his role as a manipulative genius.
The technical aspects of the film are top notch. Now coming to our leading man,Tom Cruise may have aged but has done so gracefully.Looking every bit of a stud and also allowing his co stars to chew into the scenery in spite of his presence in most of the frames in the movie,Cruise reinforces the never say die spirit again.Frankly speaking I have not watched the earlier versions of this franchise..but this one is fab..fab from the word go.So, GO for it.

There are no bullets either bouncing off, buried in the bullet proofing or falling to the floor during the final scene when Lane is secure in the glass box and fires at point blank range. Likewise there are no casings ejected as he fires.
Trivia:
Tom Cruise and Ving Rhames are the only actors to appear in all five films in the franchise.

Tom Cruise was attached to star as Napoleon Solo in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015), but dropped out in order to do this film.

The film's producers originally wanted Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011) director Brad Bird to return to helm the follow-up to the film. Bird declined the offer in order to do Tomorrowland (2015). Christopher McQuarrie was then brought in by the film's producers under the franchise's leading man Tom Cruise's request for the director's job.

The lead role was offered to Jessica Chastain but she declined.

Tom Cruise performed the sequence where Ethan Hunt climbs on the outside of a flying airplane without the use of special effects or a stunt double. At times he was suspended on the aircraft 5000 feet in the air (1.5 kilometers).

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015) is being released in the same 2015 year as such other big spy espionage films as Spy (2015) Spectre (2015), Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015).
Filming Start Date:
10 Aug 2014
