Angie, a 19-year-old damaged girl from a tough urban background who is accepted at a prestigious university in during the 80s. When her financial aid is cut, she breaks into the organic chemistry lab and synthesizes the drug Ecstasy. She then becomes one of the west coast's largest distributors of "X," dealing in the campus and in the nightclubs. Her life as "model minority" coed and the "profit-driven drug dealer" is further complicated by her desire to help "Bree," a young girl from the ghetto who reminds her of her own dark past. She further lives the high life until her recklessness instigates a sudden tragedy from which she may not be able to come out.
