The work of sculpting the Amman statue in a temple at a village called Kalvadaagam, has been unfinished for many years. The sculptors who come to complete the work are driven out of the village on the same night. The priest and the temple's watchman are found dead in mysterious circumstances; Police arrest Rajeswari's son on suspicion, however she goes and gets him released. On her way back, Rajeshwari finds her helper Aaraan had been killed by an evil spirit. She is shaken by the incident and invites a Namboothiri. who reaches the village, studies the place and says that an evil spirit was behind all the murders and disturbances in the village. He advises that to drive away the shipit, the Amman idol had to be installed in the village temple. With no other options available, the villagers go and meet the sculptor, who had left idol incomplete and request him to come back. However he declines the invitation, citing old age but sends his disciple and grandson Vishwa. Vishwa refuses to leave his aged grandfather and go, till he tells him the story of the village and Vishwa's identity.
