Mangadh HatyaKand Govind Guru (2023)

The film "Mangadh Massacre" recounts the tragic events of November 17, 1913, when British forces killed over 1,500 Adivasis at Mangadh, surpassing the toll of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. It highlights Govind Guru's efforts to empower the Adivasi community through education, cultural preservation, and social reforms like banning alcohol and tree cutting. Despite being exiled by the king, Govind Guru continued his mission, training disciples Pratap and Poojo to assist the community. As he mobilized the Adivasis at Mangadh, the British attacked, resulting in many deaths, including Pratap's. Govind Guru and Poojo were captured, with Govind Guru initially sentenced to life imprisonment, later reduced to seven years. Upon his release, he was forbidden from gathering people, but when he did, he and Poojo were re-arrested.
