Majnu (1987)

This youthful romantic drama revolves around Rajesh, an impulsive and hot-blooded young man, who acts before thinking about the consequences of any action.

He meets and falls in love with Alekhya, a beautiful and self-confident young woman. The young lovers are blissful in each other's company and decide to commit to each other by getting married. However, just before their wedding, Rajesh's friend sows the seed of suspicion deep into Rajesh's heart. Owing to his impulsive nature, Rajesh questions Alekhya's character and she is infuriated that Rajesh had such little faith in her and their relationship, that he would blindly believe his friend's words without any evidence.

Alekhya decides that there is no maturity or truth in Rajesh's love and decides to break up with him. She also moves on with her life and opts to marry a man of her parents' choice. Slowly, Rajesh begins to realise the enormity of his mistake and is repentant, but will Alekhya forgive him? Will destiny bring them back together or will Rajesh pay the ultimate price for his mistake?
