Francois, a young carpenter leads a happy life being married to his wife Therese and has two perfect children with her. Despite being happy with his wife, he covetously has an affair with another woman named Emilie, whom he met during his business trip. He extends his happiness by being with Emilie in the afternoon and with Therese during the night. On a family trip, Therese inquires about the extent of his happiness noticing a change in him. Not being able to lie to his wife anymore Francois opens up the truth about his affair to her which he assures hasn't changed anything much in his life.
