In 1928, Kunthapura, a remote village in British occupied Mysore is discovered by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to have been the Summer Retreat of Hoysala Dynasty. The ASI wants the villagers to move away from the village for good, so that they can go on with their excavations. The villagers resist the idea of vacating their traditional land which leaves them with no other option than to take up arms against the British. Narrated through the recollections of an 89 year old man, Krishnappa Narasimha Shashtri, this patriotic saga of courage and sacrifice was brought to the notice of the public in 2011.
