Set in a remote village in Vietnam, a deaf-mute girl named Soi falls in love with a stranger, Luu Huynh who happened to heal a man miraculously. The villagers gather around him and learn that he is a shaman healer. Soi marries him after the incidence and comes to discover his horrific past and his disturbing desire for immortality which involves sacrificing and conjuring the dead.
