Embedded with charged emotions and socially relevant concepts, this family-oriented romantic drama follows the life of Dr Vijay. He's a compassionate doctor dedicated towards healing and relieving the suffering of those in need.
When he comes to know about Parashuram and Misra, who run a criminal network that deals with spreading infectious diseases, he's incensed. The criminals' idea is to then manufacture expensive drugs that are sold at high prices to create maximum profit, while the public, desperate for a cure willingly pays any price.
The rest of this evocative drama depicts Dr Vijay's battle against this criminal network and his sacrifices to ensure that Parashuram and Misra's clever machinations are exposed and stopped. Will the doctor be willing to take the law into his own hands to ensure justice? What is the personal price he must pay for battling to ensure social welfare?
This film was first made in Malayalam, with Jayan. After his death during the filming of 'Kolilakkam', it was re-shot with Rajinikanth; simultaneously in Malayalam and Tamil owing to Rajinikanth's huge fan base in South India.
This is the Hindi dubbing of the Tamil movie Garjanai (1981).
