Trivia:
This is the first Harry Potter film for which J.K. Rowling is a producer.

The "seven Harrys" scene was so complex to film that Daniel Radcliffe counted over ninety takes for just a single shot.

Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) was initially hesitant to return for this film, fearing that his character's arrest and imprisonment at the end of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) would mean very little, if any, screen time in the finale. Upon meeting J.K. Rowling, he begged to be let out of prison. She told him "You're out. Chapter one." This immediately convinced him to sign on for the film.

In the film's opening, when Hermione is called down to tea, we can hear her parents talking about Australia along with an announcer, presumably on the television, talking about a countryside. This is a reference to the book, in which Hermione says she not only wiped herself from her parents' memories, but gave them new identities, and made them think that they'd love nothing more than to move to Australia, which we presume that they do.
