Dosth (2001)

This youthful relationship saga delves into the unique friendship that develops between two young men Vijay (Kunchacko Boban) and Ajith (Dileep), who go to the same college. Both strong and fearless, they end up clashing against one another, becoming bitter enemies, before ending up as fast friends. In a twist of fate, Vijay falls in love with Ajith's younger sister Geethu (Kavya Madhavan) without having any knowledge of this fact. Just as the young couple bring up their courage to express their love to Ajith, Vijay comes to know about their family's dark secret. Ajith's first sister had eloped with his best friend, causing their family a great deal of shame. Realising that Ajith is still deeply traumatised by what he perceived as a betrayal of his friendship, Vijay decides to remain silent. He decides to sacrifice his love to ensure that his friend doesn't feel betrayed once more. However, unable to bear the separation with Vijay, Geethu takes the drastic step of attempting suicide. Shocked by this event, Ajith investigates into the reason behind her action, eventually finding out about the true love between his sister and his best friend. How will Ajith react?
