Bangarada Kalla (1973)

Embedded with fast-paced action and fiery emotion, this multi-layered romantic drama delves into the twists and turns in the life of Kalpana, a beautiful young woman who lives with her elder sister, Chandra. As they are without parental support and have to deal with a very difficult financial situation, Chandra is targeted by Sowcar, a wealthy man.

Sowcar is involved in smuggling and other illegal activities and wishes to prey upon Chandra's vulnerability and even tries to kidnap Kalpana, but she is saved by a brave young man, Ravi. He is a carefree youngster, who indulges in drinking alcohol, smoking and even betting on racehorses, but when they find themselves falling in love, Kalpana tries to get him to give up on all his poor conduct and become an exemplary person so that Chandra would allow them to get married.

Finally, when Ravi brings up the courage to speak to Chandra about his marriage with Kalpana, she agrees to come and speak to Ravi's father, who happens to be none other than the villainous Sowcar. Will Sowcar's corrupt and illegal practices be brought to justice? Will Kalpana and Ravi unite in the bond of matrimony?
