Avar Enakke Sontham (1977)

This upbeat relationship drama depicts the trials and triumphs in the life of Anand, the owner of a successful advertising agency. His straightforward behaviour, professionalism and kindness are his great virtues.

Anand is taken to Kavita's house to see if they may make a compatible couple. They are immediately attracted to each other and soon get married. They have two children, Rani and Muthu.

However, over a period of time Anand begins to feel very strangled and claustrophobic within the relationship because Kavita is a perfectionist. She wants everything done in an orderly, regimented fashion and soon turns the artistic Anand's life into a mechanised existence that he hates.

At this critical juncture, Elizabeth begins working for Anand at his advertising firm. Anand and Leeza as he fondly calls her, become the best of friends as they are able to share each other's feelings, thoughts and emotions on every subject. Whenever Anand complains about his deteriorating relationship with Kavita, Leeza tries to present Kavita's perspective and encourages Anand will sort things out in his marital relationship.

On the other hand, spurred on by the accountant Naidu, Kavita begins to become increasingly suspicious and resentful of the relationship between Anand and Leeza. When complications from a previous accident makes brain surgery essential for Leeza, Anand immediately accepts all expenditure to take Leeza to the best surgeon in the world.

However, when Kavita objects to this due to her suspicion and separates from Anand, Leeza refuses to go to the USA for surgery. Can Anand convince Kavita of the pure and platonic nature of his friendship with Leeza? Will Leeza receive the surgery in time to save her life?
