This story follows the life of a lonely Zagdalu father Bapu and his Nikamma Son Ranga as well as a lonely Zagdalu lady Shanti and her landlord Marne, a lawyer and a wannabe poet, who is madly in love with her. For monetary purposes, Ranga and his friend decide to bring Shanti home to meet his father Bapu, and instill an argument between them. Ranga is certain that Shanti will win the argument and his money problems will finally be over. The two friends tell Bapu and Shanti that the other one has lost their mind and gone out of control since their respective spouses had passed on, and so they need to get into an argument with the other person to snap them back into reality. So, Shanti comes to Bapu's house to instigate the argument, as planned, and Bapu also waits for her eager to hash it out. But, instead of arguing, the two lonely souls fall in love with each other. Bapu even invites Shanti to stay, complicating the situation for Ranga. Marne is also heartbroken, unable to accept that his love was lost. Finally, the whole gang come together in Bapu's house and start living as a family. But, Marne starts to lose his mind from being distraught and decides to lodge a court case against Shanti and Bapu, he also uncovers Ranga's ulterior motive and blackmails him. Ranga, Bapu and Shanti come together and fight off Marne's madness, moving on with their lives.
