Embedded with charged emotions and family sentiments, this fast-paced crime drama delves into the ups and downs in the life of Gopi and his elder brother, Vijay. As a young boy, Gopi takes the blame for his brother's mistake and join a group of criminals. Separated from his family, Gopi becomes a consummate thief, and one day, gets into the compartment of a running train, only to come face to face with a police inspector. In the ensuing tussle, Gopi pushes the police officer out of the train, without knowing that he is none other than his long-lost elder brother. At the end of the train journey, Gopi finds himself mistaken for being the police inspector and takes over his identity. In the village, he finds himself touched by the love and respect showered upon him by the innocent people. When he comes to know of the many atrocities and crimes committed by Nagappan, he begins using clever techniques to bring him to book. What will happen when the real police inspector's wife and son come to the village? Will Gopi succeed in outrunning his criminal past or will it come back to haunt him?
