Keanu Reeves makes an explosive return to action-adventure in 47 Ronin. After a treacherous warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, 47 leaderless samurai vow to seek vengeance and restore honor to their people. Driven from their homes and dispersed across the land, this band of Ronin must seek the help of Kai (Reeves)—a half-breed they once rejected—as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors. As this exiled, enslaved outcast becomes their most deadly weapon, he will transform into the hero who inspires this band of outnumbered rebels to seize eternity.

Movie Connection(s):
Dubbed from: 47 Ronin (English)
Goofs:
Factual Mistake
In one scene, the witch Mizuki is seen observing oracle bones over a fire to do a reading for Kira. This movie is supposed to take place in feudal Japan; oracle bones are a part of ancient Chinese culture, not Japanese.

Continuity
In the scene where the 47 ronin are granted a proper samurai's death, the shogun first has the black strap of his headpiece under his lip, then under his chin and then under his lip again.

Miscellaneous
Kira has Oishi, his worst enemy, trapped in a dungeon under heavy guard for an entire year, but suddenly decides to release him and send him off without even keeping a watch on him. And conveniently, this all happens just in time for Oishi to stage his revenge and prevent Kira's marriage to Mika.
Trivia:
This is Carl Rinsch's directorial debut.

The arrows for the film were made by Michael Reape, a famous European arrow maker. A small amount of arrows were made in "museum" quality for close-ups.

According to Keanu Reeves, filming was first done in Japanese for the sake of the supporting cast, and then filming was done in English.
