Naya Raasta (1970)

Chander is a successful criminal lawyer who decides to settle down in a village and serve justice for the poor. Chander starts to educate his workers and practices his law which he had studied, during which he falls in love with a village pheasant named Shallo. Chander wishes to marry her but his mother diverts Shallo away to marry someone else. Shallo marries a fellow villager Ramu, but her past continues to haunt her, as her mother in law refuses to accept her. Shallo's sister Radha, is married to a drunkard Thakur Pratap and she decides to fix her husband and her sister's life. Ramu learns about his wife's innocence and decides to leave with her to Radha's house. Thakur decides to own Shallo and requests Ramu to sell her for money, which angers Ramu and they engage in a fight where Ramu gets killed. Shallo kills Thakur with the same object used to kill Ramu, and gets accused for double murder. Will Chander fix her situation and succeed in proving her innocence in court, given the history they had shared??
